Unshare — Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 29, 2026

The short version: Unshare runs entirely on your device. We collect nothing — no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no servers of ours. Your photos and everything derived from them never leave your iPhone, with one optional, off-by-default exception described below.

What we collect

Nothing. Unshare has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no servers of our own. Your photos, their metadata, and everything the app derives from them (palettes, cards, redactions, reports, collages) are processed on your iPhone and never transmitted to us or anyone else.

For App Store privacy labeling, Unshare's label is: Data Not Collected, with the single optional exception described below.

The one optional network feature

If you turn on Historical weather in Settings (it is off by default), Unshare sends the photo's GPS coordinates (rounded to 4 decimal places) and capture date to the Open-Meteo public weather archive (archive-api.open-meteo.com) to look up the weather at the moment the photo was taken. No identifiers accompany the request. Open-Meteo's own terms and privacy policy apply to that request. Turning the toggle off stops all such requests; this is the app's only own network call.

On-system Apple services

The Privacy Report is computed entirely on-device — including the location finding, which shows the photo's raw coordinates without contacting any geocoding service.

Device location (Golden Hour Planner)

If you use the Golden Hour Planner and grant location access ("while using the app"), Unshare takes a single location fix, rounds it to roughly 1 km, and computes sunrise, sunset, golden hour, and blue hour times entirely on your device. The rounded coordinates are stored only on your device so the planner works next time, and are never transmitted anywhere. Optional golden hour reminders are local notifications scheduled on-device. You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings.

Photo library access

Unshare uses the system photo picker, which shares only the specific photos you choose. Saving finished exports uses add-only access; Unshare never requests read access to your photo library.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are processed by Apple. We receive no personal information about you from a purchase.

Data retention and deletion

We hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to retain, delete, or export. Deleting the app removes everything it ever computed.

Children

Unshare does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how Unshare handles data, we will update this page and the policy inside the app before the change takes effect.
