By installing, opening, or using Ping, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use Ping on behalf of someone else (for example, helping a parent set it up), you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.
These Terms also incorporate Apple's Standard End User License Agreement for App Store apps: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.
In the event of any conflict between Apple's Standard EULA and these Terms, these Terms apply to the use of Ping itself; Apple's EULA continues to govern the platform-level licensing relationship.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Ping. Some regions require a higher minimum age (for example, parts of the EU set the digital consent age between 14 and 16). You are responsible for confirming you meet the age requirement in your jurisdiction.
Ping is not designed for children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 is using Ping, please contact us at the address below and we will help remove the account.
Users who post prohibited content will be banned. We may remove content, suspend accounts, or ban users who violate these rules. Bans may be permanent and may be enforced across re-registration attempts.
You are responsible for the content you put into Ping. We are not your editor.
If you see content or behavior that violates these Terms, report it.
Long-press the offending friend's card → tap the "..." menu → tap Report. Pick a reason. The app opens a prefilled email to our support team.
If you are in immediate physical danger, contact local emergency services first. Ping is not an emergency service.
Ping is free to use. Ping Pro is an optional subscription that unlocks unlimited friends, full check-in history, custom themes, and other features listed in-app.
As shown in the App Store at the time of purchase. Pricing may change; existing subscribers are notified before changes take effect.
Ping Pro renews automatically through your Apple ID at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Apple ID will be charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period end.
You can cancel anytime through Settings → [Your Apple ID] → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep Pro features until then. We do not have access to cancel on your behalf.
All payments and refunds are handled by Apple. Request refunds through reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple's refund policy applies; we do not issue refunds directly.
Cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged. Otherwise the subscription auto-renews into the paid tier.
Your privacy matters. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture. Short version: Ping uses your iCloud to sync with friends, does not run its own servers for your check-in data, does not show ads, and does not include third-party tracking SDKs.
Delete the app and remove yourself from any shared CKShare records. See the Privacy Policy's "Data Retention & Deletion" section.
We may suspend or terminate your access to Ping at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms — particularly the Acceptable Use rules. Severe violations (sexual content involving minors, threats of violence, illegal content) result in immediate permanent ban and may be reported to authorities.
After termination, your right to use Ping ends. Locally stored data on your device remains until you delete the app. Data already shared with friends through iCloud remains in their iCloud copies until those friends remove it.
Ping is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranties about uptime, sync reliability, notification delivery, or fitness for any particular purpose.
If you have a medical condition or live alone with health risks, combine Ping with appropriate professional services (medical alert systems, regular check-ins by phone, etc.).
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Ping is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or the equivalent of one year of Ping Pro subscription, whichever is greater.
We are not liable for:
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, notify you in-app on next launch.
Continued use of Ping after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't accept them, stop using Ping.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be resolved in the courts of Finland, except where mandatory local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
