These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Smart Kiitös Oy, Helsinki, Finland ("we", "us") governing your use of the Latent (显影) iOS application (the "App"). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you obtained the App through Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where the two conflict, these Terms prevail to the extent permitted.
Latent is a photo toolkit that processes photos you choose entirely on your device: film-style cards from EXIF data, color palettes, shooting-moment restoration, journal collages, Live Photo exports, and privacy tools (redaction, metadata removal, privacy reports). The App requires iOS 18 or later.
Core features are free. Latent Pro unlocks the full feature set (all card styles and fonts, color names, Moment Restore, automatic detection and the Privacy Report, Live Photo motion export, full journal collages, watermark-free export) and is available as:
Prices are set in USD; the App Store shows and charges the equivalent in your local currency and region. Prices may change for future purchases; changes never apply retroactively to an active period.
Your photos are yours. The App processes them locally and we never receive them. You are solely responsible for the photos you edit and for anything you export and share, including making sure your sharing respects the rights and privacy of people who appear in them and complies with applicable law.
The privacy tools are aids, not guarantees: automatic detection can miss faces, plates, text, or codes, and a redacted photo may still contain identifying context. Always review the result — including the Privacy Report — before sharing anything sensitive.
Moment Restore data (golden hour, moon phase) is computed locally from the photo's own timestamp and coordinates; historical weather (optional, off by default) comes from the Open-Meteo public archive. All of it is provided for creative and informational purposes only and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Color names, captions, and other generated text are creative outputs, not statements of fact.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse-engineer, or extract the source code of the App except to the extent permitted by law.
Artwork you create with the App (cards, palettes, collages, wallpapers) is yours to use freely, including commercially, to the extent of the rights you hold in the underlying photos.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Smart Kiitös Oy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, nor your statutory rights as a consumer.
We may update the App and these Terms. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date before they take effect. Continuing to use the App after a change constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence remains unaffected. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Helsinki, Finland, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
