Finished the letter to Grandma — three pages by hand, the long way around. Walked back from the post office in soft rain. The cherry trees on Mannerheimintie just started.

The empty cells are also a record.

Most diary apps quietly assume you will fail. They count streaks, push notifications, threaten broken chains. The product is the guilt. NoDiary doesn't do that. The empty cells aren't blame — they're just part of the picture.

Sunday in winter.
The week of the flu.
The four days your mother visited.

These are the days you didn't write — and a calendar full of sheep without them would be a fiction, not a record. NoDiary keeps them as soft outlines, not as red marks.

Skipping a day costs you nothing. The sheep are still there tomorrow.

the flu week, and that's fine
— the five sheep —

Five faces for five kinds of day.

Logging a mood takes one tap. The sheep are deliberately gentle — even on the heavy days, they're not judging you. They just sit with you.

— quietly capable —

Small on the outside. Enough on the inside.

Six things, all included. No paywall, no upsell screen, no "upgrade for sync." The whole app is the free app.

— one a day

One entry, one day

The single rule of NoDiary. It removes the pressure to keep up, and makes the calendar view actually mean something.

— mood

Five mood sheep

One tap per day. Five expressions cover most of what a day actually is. The sheep don't grade your moods.

— photos

Up to nine photos

Drag to reorder, tap to view. Your visual diary alongside the words. Stored locally with a tidy cache.

— calendar

Calendar view

The shape of the month at a glance. Every day you wrote has a sheep. Every day you didn't has empty space — and that's fine.

— icloud

iCloud sync

Through your private CloudKit container. Write on iPhone, read on iPad. Smart Kiitös never sees a word.

— stats

Monthly stats

Entries, characters, current streak, longest streak, most active day. Small numbers that don't try to optimize you.

— five screens —

The app, page by page.

Calendar, an open entry, a photo grid, search, and the monthly stats page. Designed for one-thumb use before sleep.

— privacy posture —

A diary should be yours.

Diary apps have a bad history of selling moods, harvesting photos, and locking export behind subscriptions. NoDiary is structurally unable to do any of those things.

The shortest privacy
policy we could honestly write.

Entries live in JSON on your device, with a photo cache. Optional sync goes through your iCloud — Smart Kiitös runs no server, holds no copy. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising framework, no crash reporter. The only data the app handles is what you write.

Frequently asked, honestly answered.

What is NoDiary?
NoDiary is a free minimalist diary app for iPhone and iPad. You write one entry per day, log your mood with an animated sheep, and optionally attach up to nine photos. Your entries sync privately through iCloud and never touch a third-party server.
Why only one entry per day?
One entry per day removes the pressure to "keep up" and makes the calendar view meaningful. A single sheep marks every day you wrote — easy to glance at, hard to game. The constraint turns journaling into a habit instead of a chore.
How does NoDiary sync between devices?
Sync runs through Apple's iCloud using your private CloudKit database. Your entries and photos move directly between your devices via Apple's infrastructure. Smart Kiitös never sees, stores, or processes any of your content.
Is NoDiary really free?
Yes. NoDiary is fully free with no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no ads. There is no premium tier or paywalled feature — every capability, including iCloud sync and the Home Screen widget, is included.
Does NoDiary collect any data?
No. NoDiary contains zero third-party SDKs — no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising frameworks. The only data the app handles is the entries and photos you write, which stay on your device and in your private iCloud.

Start a year of small days.

NoDiary is on the App Store. Free, private, and quietly waiting for tonight's entry. One sentence is plenty.
