Getting Started

What is Symptio?

Symptio is a health symptom tracker for iOS, built for people managing chronic, episodic, or unexplained conditions. You record a symptom in about 15 seconds, watch patterns emerge over weeks and months, and export a clean report to bring to your next appointment. Everything stays on your device and in your own iCloud.

What do I need to use Symptio?

How do I record my first symptom?

  1. Open Symptio — there is no signup and no login.
  2. Tap the big Record Symptom button on the Home screen.
  3. Pick a symptom (headache, fatigue, anxiety, joint pain…) or add your own.
  4. Set the severity on a 1–10 slider.
  5. Optionally add tags, a note, a photo, or a medication — then save. Done.

Recording Symptoms

What can I attach to a record?

Everything except the symptom itself and the severity is optional. A minimal record takes seconds; a detailed one still under a minute.

Do I have to log every day?

No. Symptio has no streaks to break and no guilt mechanics. Log when something happens — the trends view is honest about gaps. That said, the more consistently you record during a flare, the more useful the picture becomes.

Health Snapshot

The Health Snapshot on the Home screen keeps everyday health data next to your symptoms, so context is never lost:

Symptom records shown in the snapshot are linked to this data — "Bloating · Type 4 today" or "Fatigue · Cycle Day 12" — which is exactly the kind of connection a doctor will ask about.

History & Export

How does History work?

The History tab lists every record grouped by day, filterable by symptom category and tags. Free accounts see the last 30 days; Symptio Pro unlocks your full history.

How do I export a report for my doctor?

  1. Open History → tap Export PDF.
  2. Choose the scope — one profile or the whole family.
  3. Share the file via the iOS share sheet: email, AirDrop, print, Files.

PDF export is free. CSV export (for spreadsheets or your own analysis) is part of Pro.

Reports are generated entirely on your device and go only where you send them — never through our servers. We don't have servers.

Family Care (Pro)

How do family profiles work?

Family Care lets you track symptoms for up to 6 profiles — yourself plus children, elderly parents, a spouse, or anyone you care for. Each profile has its own nickname, emoji, date of birth, and relationship, and keeps a fully separate log, trends view, and export reports.

How do I switch profiles?

Tap the profile chip in the top-right corner of the Home screen → Switch Profile. The active profile is always visible, so records land in the right log.

All family data is stored on your device and in your iCloud, managed by you. Family members don't need their own accounts or devices.

Widgets, Watch & Reminders

How do I add the widget?

  1. Long-press your Home Screen → tap +.
  2. Search for Symptio.
  3. Choose Small or Medium.

What does the Apple Watch app do?

Quick recording from your wrist: pick a symptom, set severity, confirm. It's the fastest way to capture a flare in the moment — no phone needed. Requires watchOS 10 or later.

How do reminders work?

Settings → Reminders. Set a daily reminder or pick specific weekdays. Reminders are local notifications, processed entirely on your device. Make sure notifications are allowed in iOS Settings → Notifications → Symptio.

HealthKit & iCloud

What does the HealthKit connection do? (Pro)

With your permission, Symptio reads selected Apple Health metrics — heart rate, heart-rate variability, sleep, steps, and active energy — and shows them alongside your symptoms so patterns like "headaches after short sleep" become visible.

How does iCloud sync work?

Your records sync through your personal iCloud (CloudKit private database) so they survive a lost phone and appear on your other devices. You can check the sync status or turn it off in Settings. Smart Kiitös has zero access to your iCloud data.

What does Pro cost?

Prices are shown in your local currency in the App Store and may vary by region. All purchases are processed by Apple; use Restore Purchases in Settings if Pro doesn't appear on a new device.

How do I cancel my subscription?

  1. Open iOS Settings → tap your name at the top.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Find Symptio and tap Cancel Subscription.

You keep Pro features until the end of the current billing period.

Privacy & Data

Where does my data live?

On your iPhone (in SwiftData) and, if sync is on, in your own iCloud. Smart Kiitös runs no server that stores health data, uses no analytics, and includes no third-party SDKs. See the full Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my data?

Is Symptio a medical device?

No. Symptio does not diagnose, prescribe, or predict outcomes. It is a personal record designed to make conversations with your clinician more concrete. If a symptom is acute, severe, or new, contact a doctor or your local emergency service first.
